At least 19 killed in Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon
At least 19 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon, according to the country’s health authorities.
Greek media outlet RIK reported, citing a statement from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, that eight people were killed and three others injured in strikes in the area of Baalbek.
Separately, four people were killed in airstrikes in southern Beirut, near the coastal city of Tyre.
The ministry also said that at least seven people were killed and 21 were wounded in shelling in Ramlet al‑Bayda. Among the victims were displaced people who had been staying on a public beach after being forced from their homes due to the war.
The Israel Defence Forces said the strikes targeted members of Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, the armed forces of Iran said they were carrying out a joint attack with Hezbollah against Israel.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps later announced that the operation involved missile and drone strikes on more than 50 targets across Israeli territory.
