Attack on vessel in Strait of Hormuz kills one crew member

A vessel came under attack in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one crew member, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre said.

The engine room sustained damage as a result of the attack, Caliber.Az reports.

“The Company Security Officer has reported that the vessel was struck by an unknown projectile while conducting an outbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz,” the centre noted.

Oman’s coast guard provided assistance to the crew, while an investigation into the incident is underway.
