Australia, Netherlands tighten cooperation amid Middle East crisis

21 April 2026 13:32

Australia and the Netherlands are coordinating closely on energy security, trade, and international policy amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said.

Albanese announced the development in a post on X, highlighting intensified cooperation between the two countries in response to global market pressures and regional instability, Caliber.Az reports.

“Australia and the Netherlands are united by shared values.

Today I spoke with Prime Minister RobJetten about the conflict in the Middle East and its impact on fuel supply and prices around the world.

We also discussed our new Australia-EU Free Trade Agreement, ongoing support for Ukraine, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

When we work together, we get better outcomes,” the post by Albanese reads.
