Australian PM Albanese evacuated from residence over bomb threat PHOTO
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was evacuated from his official residence (The Lodge) in Canberra following reports of a potential explosion.
Significant police resources were deployed, and the prime minister was temporarily moved to a secure location, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Australian media.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) confirmed they responded at 18:00 to an "alleged security incident."
"A thorough search of a protection establishment was undertaken, and nothing suspicious was located," the AFP said in a statement.
The AFP is responsible for protecting members of Parliament and safeguarding key Commonwealth facilities, including the Prime Minister’s residence and Parliament House.
The Lodge in Canberra serves as the official residence of the Australian Prime Minister and was the site of Albanese and Jodie Haydon’s wedding in November.
