Austria freezes Russia's assets for almost 2 billion euros
Austria supports EU and US sanctions against Russia and has frozen about 2 billion euros in the financial assets of the aggressor country.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the Minister of Finance of Austria Magnus Brunner.
“Today I received in Vienna the US Undersecretary of the Treasury for Combating Terrorism and Money Laundering, Brian Nelson,” the statement said.
The Minister noted that this meeting is special. During the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the strategic relationship between the EU and the US is of great importance.
“Effective application of sanctions against Russia in the interests of Austria, Europe and the United States. We support Western sanctions against the aggressor and have frozen about 2 billion euros of financial assets since the start of the war,” Brunner added.
