US state secretary arrives in Israel

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in Israel, with footage of his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport broadcast by the state media company Kan.

Later in the day, Rubio is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The U.S. State Department previously stated that during his visit, Rubio will discuss the ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, the return of hostages held there, and efforts to counter recognition of Palestinian statehood.
