Avalanche in Nepal base camp leaves four dead
Rescuers in Nepal have recovered the bodies of four people killed in an avalanche that struck a base camp in the Himalayas on September 27, the National Association of Mountain Guides of Nepal has stated.
The association said rescuers recovered two bodies and found two more on September 28, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
It added that rescue operations are continuing.
Earlier, The Kathmandu Post reported that at least 14 Nepali nationals had gone missing after an avalanche struck a camp in the Mount Himlung Himal area of the Himalayas.
The missing people are members of the Nepali section of an expedition team, with no foreign tourists among them, according to the newspaper.
The newspaper later reported that rescuers had begun searching for those missing.
