Avalanche risk declared in mountainous regions of Uzbekistan
Uzbek authorities have issued an avalanche warning for several mountainous areas of the country amid forecast snowfall and significant fluctuations in air temperatures between 17-22 December.
The heightened risk of snow avalanches is expected to affect a number of regions across the country, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
In the Qashqadaryo Region, the warning applies to the Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi and Shahrisabz districts. The Surxondaryo Region faces potential danger in the Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo and Uzun districts.
Avalanche risks have also been identified in the Samarkand Region, including the districts of Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand and Urgut, as well as in the Jizzakh Region, particularly in Bakhmal and Zamin.
In the Tashkent Region, the alert covers the Bostanlyk, Parkent and Akhangaran districts, notably the mountainous areas of the Chatkal Range. The warning further extends to the Pap district of the Namangan Region.
