Average gasoline cost in US hits $4.10 per gallon amid Iran conflict
04 April 2026 23:28
The average price of gasoline in the United States has risen to $4.10 per gallon ($1.08 per liter), marking a 37% increase since the start of US and Israeli strikes on Iran, the American Automobile Association (AAA) announced.
Over the past week, prices increased by 12 cents, driven by the effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz—which handles about 20% of the world’s seaborne oil shipments—and a slowdown in oil production in the Middle East, according to TASS.
California reports the highest prices at nearly $5.92 per gallon ($1.56 per liter), while Oklahoma offers the cheapest gasoline at $3.29 per gallon ($0.87 per liter).
