Axios: US and Iran discuss all parameters of nuclear deal
Participants in the talks in Switzerland discussed all components of an agreement between the United States and Iran regarding the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, as well as issues related to implementing a memorandum of understanding that envisions the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, Axios reports, citing a US diplomatic source.
According to the US diplomat, the talks focused on “all elements of the nuclear deal,” while the sides also held productive consultations on the memorandum of understanding and ways to ensure a shared understanding of the situation among all parties.
It is noted that in Bürgenstock, with mediation from Qatar and Pakistan, technical issues related to the implementation of the agreements were discussed, including the issue of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The American side stated that there had been progress on ensuring its openness, despite recent Iranian statements about a possible closure of the strait.
In addition, according to the US assessment, all participants in the talks are currently satisfied with how they are proceeding. The diplomat said mediators are helping the sides resolve issues, and that the current round is creating conditions for building trust in the future.
