Axios: US awaits Iran’s response on potential March 26 peace talks
The United States and a group of intermediary countries are awaiting Iran’s response regarding the possibility of holding high-level talks on March 26 aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, Axios reports.
According to its sources, “the U.S. and a group of regional mediators are discussing the possibility of holding high-level peace talks with Iran as soon as Thursday, but are still waiting for a response from Tehran.” The outlet adds that “If the plans for a summit firm up, Vice President Vance is likely to be involved.”
Sources also noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is concerned that U.S. President Donald Trump “might strike a deal [with Tehran] that falls well short of Israel's objectives, includes significant concessions, and limits Israel's ability to conduct strikes against Iran.”
