AZAL, Air Serbia sign codeshare agreement to enhance connectivity

06 April 2026 16:06

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), part of the AZCON Holding group, has signed a codeshare agreement with Serbia's national carrier, Air Serbia.

The new partnership, announced by AZAL’s press office, will see direct flights between Baku and Belgrade operated twice a week starting May 2026, Caliber.Az reports.

Under the agreement, AZAL will place its marketing code on flights operated by Air Serbia, offering passengers more convenient booking options, comfortable travel opportunities on the Belgrade–Baku–Belgrade route, and expanded connection options. The first flight under the codeshare agreement is set for May 3, 2026.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in the airlines' joint efforts to expand their international network through reliable and mutually beneficial partnerships. The new agreement will offer passengers a wider choice of destinations, increased flexibility, enhanced travel options, and improved access between Azerbaijan and Serbia, strengthening ties between the two countries in tourism, business, and cultural exchange.

"The partnership will allow passengers to access coordinated services and purchase tickets through AZAL’s sales channels, ensuring more convenient travel planning and comfortable flights between Baku and Belgrade. AZAL continues to actively develop its route network and strategic partnerships, reinforcing its position as a key regional connector between East and West," said Jamil Manizade, Chief Commercial Officer of Azerbaijan Airlines.

“This codeshare partnership will further expand air travel between Serbia and Azerbaijan, providing passengers with a broader range of travel options and convenient connections. By combining our networks and expertise, we are creating new opportunities for both leisure and business travel, while also helping to strengthen the ties between our two nations,” commented Boško Rupić, Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of Air Serbia.

Tickets for the new flights will soon be available for purchase on AZAL’s official website, through the mobile app, at the airline’s ticket offices, and via accredited travel agents.
