AZAL cancels Nakhchivan flights over safety concerns

Flights to Nakhchivan have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions affecting operations at Nakhchivan International Airport, Azerbaijan’s leading carrier, AZAL, said.

The airline’s press service told Caliber.Az that the decision was taken as unfavorable weather conditions were observed in the vicinity of the airport, making it unsafe to operate scheduled flights on this route.

The airline did not specify how many flights were affected, but confirmed that services would remain suspended until conditions improve.

Flights are expected to resume once the weather stabilises and safe operating conditions are restored.

“Passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority. The situation is under control,” the airline said.
