Azerbaijan adds innovative features to COP29 website as conference draws nearer

04 November 2024 09:57

The updated version of the official digital information platform for the COP29 conference, which will be held in Baku from November 11–22, has been unveiled.

The Azerbaijani COP29 Operating Company reported that the updated website is designed to provide comprehensive information to stakeholders interested in the conference, Caliber.Az reports.

The new website, offering participants, local and international media, and the general public the latest information on the climate conference, has been developed with inclusivity and accessibility in mind. The interface is specially adapted to accommodate users with visual impairments.

The updated resource grants media representatives access to current information for extensive coverage of the global climate conference in the press. The timely updates on COP29 provided by the digital information platform allow media outlets to access accurate and up-to-date information.

One significant addition to the official COP29 website is an exclusive multimedia gallery, where media representatives can access high-quality photos and videos from COP29 events. This feature enables journalists to use professional visual materials to more effectively convey the significance of COP29 to a broad audience.

The FAQ section addresses relevant questions and answers about conference participation and is regularly updated. Additionally, the new site features a Chatbox service for real-time responses to user inquiries, facilitating access to information on organizational and technical details of the conference.

The COP29 digital information platform also offers detailed information for participants regarding pavilions in the Blue and Green Zones of the conference, accommodation, e-visas, accreditation, dining, venue navigation, and other services.

It is important to recap that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November. This decision was taken at the plenary session of COP28 in Dubai on 11 December 2023. For a fortnight, Baku will turn into a global centre that will host about 70,000-80,000 international guests.

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an agreement signed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 aimed at preventing dangerous anthropogenic interference in the climate system.
