Azerbaijan Airlines crew foils unauthorised boarding attempt at Prague airport

An incident was recorded on January 5 at Prague’s main airport involving an aircraft operated by Azerbaijan’s leading carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), which was scheduled to fly from Prague to Baku.

An unidentified man attempted to forcibly access the aircraft via the boarding stairs without completing the required check-in procedures, the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines told Caliber.Az.

The individual, who was not authorised to board, sought to enter the aircraft in violation of established aviation security regulations. 

The airline said that, in order to ensure the safety of the flight and its passengers, the attempt was promptly thwarted by the AZAL crew before airport security personnel and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

AZAL added that a joint investigation into the incident is currently underway, being conducted in cooperation with the relevant airport services and authorised authorities.
