Azerbaijan allocates more funds to liberated territories’ reconstruction
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered allocation of 2.2 billion manats ($1.3 billion) for the restoration and reconstruction of the country’s liberated territories, namely the Karabakh and the East Zangazur regions
“Last year [for the restoration of the liberated territories] 2.2 billion manats were allocated, this year the same amount is added, which totals 4.4 billion manats ($2.6 billion). According to the results of the first quarter [of 2022], the economic growth in Azerbaijan amounted to about 7 per cent, our incomes are growing” the president said while receiving the newly appointed special representative to the Zangilan region, according to his official website.
“Therefore, I believe that additional funds should be allocated for uninterrupted work. The government has already been given relevant instructions … This will allow us to do more,” President Aliyev concluded.
