Azerbaijani president receives credentials from new ambassadors of Belarus, Paraguay PHOTO
On February 13, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has received the credentials of Ceferino Valdez Peralta, the newly appointed Ambassador of Paraguay.
During the meeting, the ambassador presented his credentials to the Azerbaijani leader, who warmly engaged in conversation with the envoy, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Ambassador Valdez Peralta conveyed the greetings of Paraguayan President Santiago Peña to President Aliyev, who expressed his gratitude and reciprocated the sentiments, asking the ambassador to extend his own regards to the President of Paraguay. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the fields of interparliamentary, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. It was announced that a friendship group from the Paraguayan Parliament would soon visit Azerbaijan.
The conversation also touched on potential areas of collaboration, including agriculture and livestock. Paraguay views Azerbaijan as a strategic logistics hub to facilitate its exports to regional markets. Additionally, ongoing discussions between SOCAR and Paraguay’s oil company were highlighted, underscoring the growing links between the business communities of the two nations.
In a separate engagement on the same day, President Aliyev also received the credentials of Dmitry Pinevich, the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus. Following the formal presentation of credentials, the Azerbaijani president and Ambassador Pinevich engaged in a constructive dialogue.
President Aliyev praised the trust-based and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, noting that bilateral ties had reached a new level. He highlighted the strong potential for expanding economic cooperation, pointing to a number of promising initiatives currently under discussion.
The president also underscored the significance of regular exchanges with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, referencing the Belarusian leader’s state visit to Azerbaijan and participation in COP29, which have been instrumental in furthering collaboration between the two countries.
Ambassador Pinevich expressed his deep gratitude for the warm hospitality and pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the ties between Azerbaijan and Belarus. The ambassador also emphasized the crucial role of the personal relationship between the two presidents in advancing the bilateral partnership.
The two sides discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation across a variety of sectors, including innovative technologies, medicine, and agriculture. The conversation also covered Belarusian involvement in the restoration and construction projects in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, marking a new chapter in the nations’ multifaceted cooperation.
