Azerbaijan bids farewell for embassy terror victim

The farewell ceremony for Orkhan Asgarov, who was killed in the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran last week, is being held at his home in Baku, APA reports.

Relatives and colleagues of the martyr are attending the ceremony.

In the coming hours, Asgarov's body will be brought to the second Alley of Martyrs.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the funeral for the martyr will take place at 12:00 pm.

On January 27, an armed attack was carried out on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran. As a result of the terrorist attack, Orkhan Asgarov, the Chief Security Officer at the embassy, was killed and two members of the embassy’s security service were injured by an armed terrorist.

On January 29, Orkhan Asgarov’s body was evacuated from Iran along with the Azerbaijani embassy staff in Tehran.
