Azerbaijan border troops seize over 8 kg of narcotics smuggled from Iran
Azerbaijani border authorities have successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 8.456 kilograms of narcotics from Iran into the country, reports.
The operation took place in the area of responsibility of the Horadiz Border Unit, where two individuals were detained: Tayfur Zargarov, a 19-year-old resident of Ganja, and Aykhan Aslanov, a 33-year-old resident of Aghdam. Authorities seized 4.33 kilograms of marijuana from the suspects, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani State Border Service.
Additionally, on December 6, a border patrol discovered another 4.126 kilograms of marijuana in the same area.
The State Border Service emphasised that efforts to ensure border security and combat smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their precursors continue successfully. Operational and investigative measures regarding these incidents are ongoing.
