Azerbaijan, China deepen urban development ties ahead of WUF13
Azerbaijan and China have discussed expanding cooperation in urban planning and infrastructure development ahead of a major global forum set to take place in Baku, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev, held a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei. The discussions underscored that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China is currently at a high level, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Committee.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for cooperation across a range of areas, with particular emphasis on urban planning and infrastructure development. A key focus of the talks was the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is scheduled to take place in Baku.
Anar Guliyev described the forum as one of the most important global platforms shaping the future of sustainable urban development.
The Azerbaijani side expressed satisfaction with China’s expected active participation in the event and its contribution to global urbanization processes. It also voiced expectations of broad Chinese representation, including participation from government institutions, academic circles, and the private sector.
