Azerbaijan commissions another vessel of Baku shipyard PHOTO
Spokesman for the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) Mehman Mehdiyev has said that the second tugboat, built at the Zigh Ship Repair and Construction Yard, which is on ASCO’s balance sheet, has been put into operation.
“The vessel was accepted into the balance of the Caspian Flotilla,” Mehdiyev told Caliber.Az.
The length of the Tartarchay vessel is 26 metres, width - 6.7 metres, side height - three metres, draft - 1.6 metres, displacement - 14 tons. The vessel, operated by a crew of six people, moves at a speed of nine knots.
The vessel was designed by employees of the Caspian Sea Transport Project and Scientific Research Institute under ASCO.
The yard continues building four more vessels of the same type, which are planned to be put into operation in stages.
