Azerbaijan confirms border crossings with Georgia amid ongoing quarantine restrictions
Recent footage on social media shows civilians crossing the land border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, with Azerbaijan's State Border Service (SBS) confirming the operation of border crossing points as per a Cabinet decision.
According to a statement from the SBS, "the border control points are operating based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers," Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"Foreign nationals wishing to visit Azerbaijan must use air transport, however, there are no restrictions on leaving the country," the service reported.
It is also important to note that Azerbaijan has extended its special quarantine regime until April 1, 2025. The special quarantine regime introduced in Azerbaijan due to the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 has been extended permanently since then.
