Azerbaijan considers Roblox restrictions amid government concerns
Azerbaijan may impose restrictions on the online gaming platform Roblox following concerns raised by authorities.
During an online meeting between officials from the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and representatives of Roblox, the committee expressed concern over content on the platform that allegedly contradicts national legislation and family values, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The committee warned that it risks turning from an educational and entertainment environment into a source of serious social problems. Officials emphasised the need to strengthen child protection mechanisms, particularly for users under 16.
Authorities stated that if these issues are not addressed, the platform’s operations in Azerbaijan could be restricted. Roblox representatives said they plan to take steps to mitigate the risks, with initial results expected as early as April.
Roblox is an online platform that allows users to create their own games and play projects developed by others, and is especially popular among children and teenagers.
