Azerbaijan, Denmark discuss preparation for COP29

Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev has met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark Danny Annan.

The preparation for holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan in late 2024 was discussed during the meeting. The views on this issue were exchanged, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Caliber.Az.

The prospects for cooperation in environmental protection between Azerbaijan and Denmark were also discussed.

To recap, Baku will host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

A group of Eastern European countries has chosen Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to host COP29 climate talks next year.

Earlier, Bulgaria withdrew its candidacy to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in favour of Azerbaijan.
