Azerbaijan deports over a thousand foreigners for migration braches in 2025 VIDEO
In the first six months of 2025, Azerbaijan’s State Migration Service took decisive action against irregular migration by deporting 1,007 foreigners who violated the country’s migration laws.
The Service told Caliber.Az that it made a total of 9,714 decisions regarding the rules of stay, residence, and employment of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, in the reported period.
As part of ongoing efforts to enforce migration regulations, authorities detained 4,246 foreigners found to be residing illegally in the country.
These violations included staying without valid documentation, engaging in activities that differed from their declared purpose of visit, working without authorisation, or not living at their registered addresses.
While 1,007 individuals were administratively deported, others were given a chance to legalise their status or leave voluntarily. In addition, the SMS uncovered 11 cases of organised illegal migration, indicating active efforts to combat migration-related crimes.
