Azerbaijan detains suspected drug dealer cooperating with Iran national PHOTO/VIDEO
Azerbaijani police have detained a suspected drug dealer in Baku as part of measures to fight illegal drug trafficking.
As a result of operational search measures carried out by police officers, Nadim Imanverdiyev, who is suspected of being engaged in illegal drug trafficking, was detained, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Interior Ministry.
During the search, about 16 kg of marijuana in a package was found and seized from him. Imanverdiyev said that he bought drugs from an Iranian citizen named "Seyfur Rza", whom he met on social networks. Imanverdiyev sold drugs in Baku via the Internet, the report adds.
In total, this February, during operations conducted by Baku's Khatai district police department, as well as territorial departments and police departments, 60 people who organised illegal drug trafficking were detained.
