“We provided detailed information about the strategic projects currently being implemented by the Azerbaijani side in this direction. We also exchanged views on the potential participation of the EU in these initiatives,” Nabiyev stated.
According to him, the meeting also addressed the expansion of cooperation in the areas of transport, digitalisation, innovation, and information and communication technologies (ICT).
The Zangezur Corridor, also referred to as TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity), is a strategic transport and infrastructure project designed to connect mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenia’s Syunik (Zangezur) province. Signed in August 2025 under a U.S.-brokered agreement witnessed by President Donald Trump, the deal grants the United States exclusive development rights over the corridor for 99 years, while the territory remains under Armenian sovereignty.
The initiative aims to become a vital segment of the Middle Corridor, linking Central Asia to Europe via Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Beyond road and rail connections, TRIPP envisions the integration of energy pipelines, electricity networks, and digital infrastructure, fostering regional economic growth and connectivity.
