SOCAR and TotalEnergies hold talks on Absheron gas project PHOTO

On January 8, the president of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR met a senior executive from the French energy group TotalEnergies to discuss cooperation on joint energy projects.

According to SOCAR, Rovshan Najaf held talks with Martina Opizzi, a senior vice-president at TotalEnergies.

According to the company, the discussions focused on the progress of projects being developed jointly by SOCAR and TotalEnergies, including steps towards the full-scale development of the Absheron gas condensate field in the Caspian Sea.

The two sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest in the energy sector.
