Azerbaijan sends second shipment of petroleum products to Armenia
Azerbaijan has dispatched a second shipment of petroleum products to Armenia, totaling 2,698 tons, further cementing ongoing trade ties between the two countries.
The cargo—comprising 48 railcars—was sent from Bilajari station toward Boyuk-Kasik station, located on the border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The shipment includes 1,742 tons of AI-95 gasoline and 956 tons of diesel fuel, with deliveries being conducted via transit through Georgian territory.
This follows the first shipment of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia in December 2025, which comprised 1,220 tons of AI-95 gasoline.
The deliveries are part of a broader effort to normalize trade links after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced in October 2025 the lifting of transit restrictions to Armenia. These restrictions had been in place during Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Since the decision, both direct and transit railway shipments have been carried out along this corridor, signaling increased economic cooperation in the region.
