Azerbaijan’s cotton fibre exports rise nearly 30%
Azerbaijan exported 97,288.75 tonnes of cotton fiber in January-July 2026, up 27.5%, worth $137.09 million, an increase of 24.9%, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The data from the committee showed cotton fibre accounted for 0.71% of total exports, compared with 0.72% in January-July 2025, Caliber.Az reports.
Raw cotton production in January-July 2026 amounted to 53,814.8 tonnes, up 12.8% from the same period in 2025.
During the reporting period, the country also produced 14,815.2 tonnes of cotton yarn, an increase of 33.6%.
As of August 1, 2026, enterprises had 12,814 tonnes of finished raw cotton products and 2,883.3 tonnes of cotton yarn in stock.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported 13,729.44 tonnes of cotton yarn during the reporting period, up 1.9-fold, worth $30.96 million, an increase of 1.8-fold.
