Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia set sights on new energy projects
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Energy Minister, Nasser Al-Qahtani, have discussed prospects for cooperation on new energy projects at a meeting held on the margins of the opening ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in Baku.
The sides also shared views on cooperation with Saudi Arabia within the OPEC+ framework, as well as in the areas of hydrocarbons, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and regulation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Energy.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the strong friendly and partnership-based relations between the two countries.
“The 240 MW Khizi-Absheron wind power plant, built jointly with ACWA Power, was described as a symbol of brotherhood and partnership. It was noted that this cooperation will be expanded through other promising projects,” the statement said.
In addition, opportunities for cooperation were assessed within the framework of plans to expand regional links in the energy sector and enhance energy connectivity between Central Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
