Azerbaijan expanding cooperation with Pfizer
A meeting was held at the Azerbaijani Health Ministry with representatives of Pfizer, headed by the head of the company's branch for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia, Dmitry Kozenkov.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that during the most difficult times of the coronavirus pandemic, vaccines from four well-known companies were used in our country. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was one of them. The minister emphasized that the World Health Organization (WHO) included the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in the register of medicines approved for emergency use, Caliber.Az learnt from the press service of the ministry.
Teymur Musayev also noted that the Health Ministry is ready to discuss the introduction of other vaccines in Azerbaijan that are important for the health of the country's population.
In his turn, the head of the Pfizer branch for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia, Dmitry Kozenkov, stressed that since the outset of the pandemic, Azerbaijan has been one of the few countries that have chosen own path in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Azerbaijani government prepared and implemented timely and successful measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, compensate for the damage caused by it to the economy and the social situation of the population.
The meeting also exchange views on the issues of mutual cooperation between Pfizer and the Health Ministry, including scientific and medical aspects.
