Azerbaijan seizes over 53 kg of narcotics upon smuggling from Iran PHOTO

The Lankaran border unit prevented an attempt to smuggle 53.25 kg of drugs and 1,450 Methadone M-40 pills from Iran into Azerbaijan.
During the operation, Amil Vidadi oglu Sadigov (born 1991), an Azerbaijani citizen, was detained as a suspect, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Border Service.
The border guards also discovered and seized 9.76 kg of marijuana and 450 Methadone M-40 pills that had been dropped via drone. The suspect admitted that he intended to collect the narcotics.
Previous searches revealed 20.24 kg of drugs (19.18 kg marijuana and 1.06 kg methamphetamine) on December 7, and 23.25 kg of marijuana along with 1,000 Methadone M-40 tablets on December 9.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
