Azerbaijan has 17 women's resource centres - official
Today there are 17 women's resource centres in Azerbaijan, nine of which are registered as non-governmental institutions.
The statement came from the deputy head of the Department of Gender Equality and Women's Issues of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Sabina Talishinskaya, Report informs.
"The Women's Resource Centre, which is located in Baku's Khazar district, is part of a broader project. The purpose of these centres is to expand the skills and knowledge of women, especially those living in rural areas and in villages. Today there are 17 women's resource centres in the country, nine of them are registered as non-governmental institutions that can work on the basis of various projects," she said.
According to her, the State Committee on Family, Women and Children of Azerbaijan is the body implementing the gender policy of the state. Thus, women's resource centres are important for the implementation of this policy.
