Azerbaijan honors Israeli doctors for advancing medical cooperation
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health has honored two Israeli medical professionals in recognition of their contributions to strengthening healthcare cooperation between the two nations.
At a ceremony held at the ministry, the “Excellence in Healthcare” badge was awarded to Dr. Mickey Gideon Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Soroka Medical Centre. Ilana Cantor, founder of the “Israeli Pediatrics Week in Azerbaijan” project, received an Honorary Diploma from the Ministry of Health for the successful implementation of the initiative in Azerbaijan, her longstanding professional efforts, and her contribution to the development of bilateral medical cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, Teymur Musayev, highlighted the steady progress of healthcare collaboration between Azerbaijan and Israel in recent years. He noted that exchanges between medical institutions and healthcare professionals, scientific and practical cooperation, and joint training initiatives have made a significant contribution to the development of the country’s healthcare system.
Musayev personally presented the awards, congratulating the recipients and wishing them continued success in their professional endeavors. He emphasized that expanding international partnerships in healthcare remains an important factor in the ongoing advancement of Azerbaijan’s medical sector.
In their remarks, Dr. Gideon and Cantor expressed gratitude for the recognition and the confidence placed in them. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in the field of healthcare.
