Azerbaijan, Indonesia explore aviation ties, pilgrim travel routes via Baku
Azerbaijan and Indonesia have discussed strengthening air transport connectivity and expanding tourist flows, with a focus on Baku’s potential role as a key transit hub for pilgrims.
Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Samir Rzayev, made the remarks in in a post on his social media accounts, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Rzayev and Indonesia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Berlian Helmy.
“We discussed opportunities for cooperation between AZAL and Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda Indonesia, as well as the role of Baku as a convenient transit hub for pilgrims arriving from Indonesia. I believe this meeting will make a significant contribution to the development of aviation cooperation between our countries and the realization of new opportunities,” the post said.
