Azerbaijan invites Serbia to collaborate on global climate initiatives
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has extended an invitation to Serbia to participate in global initiatives spearheaded by Azerbaijan.
The announcement was made following a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection, Irena Vujovic, Caliber.Az reports.
In a post on his social media platform X, Shahbazov highlighted discussions focused on transitioning to clean energy and reducing carbon emissions. The two officials also explored avenues for collaboration within the framework of COP29, emphasizing the importance of cooperative efforts to meet global climate objectives.
"At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection of Serbia Irena Vujovic, we discussed matters on Green Energy Transition, carbon emission reduction and cooperation within the COP29. We spoke about the initiatives of the COP29 presidency, which aim to contribute to global climate goals, and invited Serbia to join the global pledges put forward by Azerbaijan,” the post by the minister reads.
