Azerbaijan exports nearly 86 bcm of gas to Türkiye via BTE pipeline
Azerbaijan has exported nearly 86 billion cubic metres (bcm) of natural gas to Türkiye through the Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum (BTE) pipeline since it entered operation 19 years ago, according to the Energy Ministry.
The ministry said the pipeline has been transporting natural gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field to the Turkish market since its commissioning, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"According to operational data, nearly 86 billion cubic metres of gas have been exported to Türkiye through the pipeline since it entered operation," the ministry noted.
Azerbaijan shipped about 11.1251 billion cubic meters of gas via its main natural gas pipelines in January-March this year, down 3.35 per cent from the same period last year.
The State Statistical Committee’s figures suggest gas transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline was 5.6534 billion cubic meters of gas for the first three months, which accounts for 50.8% of total natural gas transportation.
