A delegation led by Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), held bilateral meetings with the management of Russian Railways (RZD) and participated in trilateral talks with the heads of the railway administrations of Russia and Iran during a working visit to Russia.
The discussions focused on the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for its further expansion, Caliber.Az reports, citing ADY.
The parties also reviewed the development of the International North–South Transport Corridor, measures to improve the route's efficiency, and opportunities to increase freight traffic along the strategic transport artery.
The sides further explored ways to accelerate digitalization throughout the corridor by introducing modern digital solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and reliability of transport operations. A protocol was signed following the trilateral meeting, reflecting the outcomes of the discussions.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with Russian cargo owners and logistics partners to present ADY's transport and logistics services for freight shipments along the East–West and North–South corridors.
The delegation highlighted the company's secure and sustainable freight transportation capabilities, while also showcasing the expanding capacity of the Astara terminal and its growing role in cargo handling and transshipment.
In addition, participants were introduced to the Cargo Tracking digital platform, which enables real-time shipment monitoring, streamlines freight management, and improves transparency throughout the transportation process.
