Turkic States expand green finance cooperation across key sectors
The Turkic Green Finance Council has agreed to broaden the scope of its activities beyond green finance to encompass wider issues related to promoting sustainable financing.
The decision was made at a Council meeting in Astana on September 9, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The participants signed a joint communiqué following the meeting, which was attended by Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, along with representatives of financial regulators, economic institutions, development agencies and stock exchanges from OTS member states.
The participants discussed the development of green and sustainable finance, carbon markets, low-carbon technologies and Sharia-compliant financial mechanisms.
Omuraliev told journalists that the Turkic Green Finance Council aims to translate policy objectives into bankable projects and investment instruments.
The Council’s next meeting is scheduled to take place in Astana in 2027.
