Azerbaijan, Vietnam discuss renewable energy projects in Nakhchivan PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Vietnam have discussed progress on a 200 MW wind power project and potential cooperation on solar energy in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on X.
Shahbazov said he discussed the projects with Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of Vietnam’s ROX Energy Global.
The talks also covered prospects for new projects aimed at strengthening Nakhchivan’s power system, establishing an electricity interconnection with Türkiye and exporting green energy to the Turkish market.
On July 16, 2025, Azerbaijan’s State Agency on Renewable Energy Sources signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s ROX Group JSC on cooperation in renewable energy.
The agreement was signed during the first Azerbaijan–Vietnam Business Council and Business Forum in Hanoi, held as part of the third meeting of the Azerbaijan–Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission.
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said five cooperation documents were signed, covering areas including investment, industry, agriculture, hydrocarbons and renewable energy. The event brought together officials and business representatives from both countries.
