09 September 2026 13:15

The Handysize-class dry cargo vessel Khojaly, owned by Azerbaijan’s Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO), has departed New Zealand for China, carrying a cargo of roundwood to Lanshan port.

The vessel was loaded at the port of Nelson on September 9 and is now crossing the Pacific Ocean on a voyage expected to take around 18 days, ASCO’s press service told Caliber.Az.

The voyage is part of ASCO’s efforts to expand its operations in the global maritime transport market and further strengthen Azerbaijan’s position in international shipping.

The Khojaly, the first Handysize-class dry cargo vessel in ASCO’s fleet, was commissioned in 2024. It has an unrestricted navigation area and a deadweight of 38,593 tons, with a length of 180 meters, a beam of 30 meters and a draft of 10.47 meters. The vessel can reach a maximum speed of 15.7 knots, allowing it to handle various types of international cargo transportation.
