Baku, Beijing eye bigger cargo flows on Middle Corridor PHOTO

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) and Chinese partners have discussed new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in developing the Middle Corridor, increasing freight volumes and expanding transport and logistics capabilities.

The discussions were held during meetings between ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov and delegations from leading Chinese port and technology companies on the sidelines of the CICA Conference of Heads of Ports in Baku, Caliber.Az reports.

The talks focused on strengthening transport and logistics connectivity between Azerbaijan and China, increasing freight flows along the Middle Corridor and accelerating the digitalisation of port and railway operations.

The sides also explored the deployment of digital and smart technologies in port operations, including terminal management systems, intelligent cargo tracking, freight-yard management, data integration and digital coordination between port and railway operations.

Rustamov also met with a delegation from Lianyungang Port to discuss the development of the Lianyungang-Baku route, the expansion of block-train services along the Middle Corridor and measures to attract additional cargo flows toward European markets.
