Azerbaijan is my homeland Armenian resident of Khankendi says/VIDEO
Larisa Stepanyan, living in the city of Khankendi, spoke in pure Azerbaijani with the film crew of Public Television, not skimping on harsh assessments of the leaders of the former separatist regime.
The 70-year-old woman said that she had been living in Khankendi for 4 years, but wanted to return to her native village of Tugh, Caliber.Az reports.
“Azerbaijan is my Motherland, I have never seen anything bad from Azerbaijanis, but I have seen bad things from Armenians. Although I am an Armenian myself. The Red Cross feeds me. I live peacefully, no one asks me who I am, what I do, where I go,” the woman said.
Larisa Stepanyan also spoke harshly to the leaders of the separatists, including Arayik Harutyunyan, and the former presidents of Armenia Kocharyan and Sargsyan - so harshly that we do not quote her words for ethical reasons.
Azerbaijan restored its sovereignty over Khankendi City following the one-day anti-terrorist measures on September 19-20, 2023.
Before Azerbaijan’s local anti-terrorism measures in Karabakh, the Defence Ministry repeatedly officially reported about the illegal transportation of weapons from Armenia to the Karabakh region.
To ensure the provisions of the Trilateral Statement [signed by Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leaders following the 2020 second Karabakh war], suppression of large-scale provocations in Azerbaijan's Karabakh economic region, disarmament, and withdrawal of Armenian armed forces formations from the territories of Azerbaijan, localized anti-terrorist activities were carried out in the region.
Taking into account the appeal of the representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh through the Russian peacekeeping contingent [temporarily stationed in Azerbaijan under the trilateral statement], an agreement was reached on September 20, 2023, at 13:00 (GMT+4) to cease anti-terrorist activities of a local nature under the following conditions: the formations of the armed forces of Armenia, Armenian illegal armed formations located in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, lay down their weapons, leave their combat positions and military posts, and completely disarm; the formations of the armed forces of Armenia leave the territory of Azerbaijan; Armenian illegal armed groups are dissolved.
