European leaders to join Trump, Zelenskyy in talks on August 13
European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, are scheduled to hold discussions with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on August 13.
The talks come ahead of an anticipated meeting between Trump and the Russian President, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
According to sources within the German government, Chancellor Merz plans to address the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict during the talks with Trump, Zelenskyy, and other European leaders.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also participate in the joint online conversation between EU leaders and President Trump, organisers have confirmed.
Arianna Podesta, Deputy Chief Spokesperson for the European Commission, said that "President von der Leyen will take part in the discussion convened by Chancellor Merz."
She added that President Zelenskyy will join the EU leaders in the talks with the US President.
