Azerbaijan and Malaysia are actively working to establish a reciprocal visa-free arrangement, according to Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ahmad Kamrizamil Bin Mohd Rza.
In an interview with Report, he highlighted ongoing efforts to finalize a bilateral agreement facilitating visa-free travel between the two nations.
Once the memorandum of understanding is signed, it is anticipated to enable direct flights and foster increased tourism exchanges.
Ambassador Rza also provided insights into tourist arrivals from Malaysia to Azerbaijan, citing a notable 50% surge in 2022 compared to the previous year.
Moreover, the number of Malaysian tourists visiting Azerbaijan has doubled from January to July 2023.
Presently, Azerbaijani citizens benefit from a 30-day visa-free privilege when travelling to Malaysia.
