Azerbaijan marks holy month of Ramadan

On March 20, the Ramadan holiday is observed in Azerbaijan.

According to Caliber.Az, the sacred holiday of Ramadan has been celebrated by Muslims since 622, according to the Hijri calendar.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan teaches people love for Allah, provides an opportunity to test one’s will and resilience, and encourages openness and honesty.

The tradition of fasting dates back to the month of Ramadan, which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spent in Medina observing the fast. The Qur’an was revealed during one of the last ten nights of Ramadan.

In Azerbaijan, Ramadan has been celebrated at the state level since 1993.
