Azerbaijan, Poland discuss expanding cooperation in urban planning PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Poland discussed expanding cooperation in urban planning and sustainable development during a meeting in New York between Anar Guliyev, chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, and Jan Szyszko, Poland’s State Secretary at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy.
The meeting focused on the legacy of the 11th session of the World Urban Forum, held in Katowice, and the contribution of the outcomes of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Baku, to implementing the New Urban Agenda and promoting sustainable urban development globally, Caliber.Az reports.
The sides also highlighted five existing sister-city agreements between Azerbaijani and Polish cities, saying the partnerships provide a foundation for expanding the exchange of experience in urban planning, sustainable development and local self-government.
Guliyev said the dialogue could help elevate Azerbaijani-Polish cooperation in urban planning and support new joint initiatives both bilaterally and within international forums.
