Azerbaijan prevents smuggling of over 17 kg of drugs from Iran PHOTO

The border guards of the Azerbaijani Border Service prevented the smuggling of 970 grammes of drugs (430 grams of opium, 540 grams of heroin) from Iran to Azerbaijan on the territory of the Lankaran border detachment's border outpost near the Astara district on September 8 at 10:55 (GMT+4).

The smuggling of 16.7 kilograms of marijuana from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented on the territory of the Goytapa border detachment's border outpost near the Chakhirli village of the Imishli district on September 9 at 15:35 (GMT+4), the State Border Service told Caliber.Az.

Investigative measures are being taken, the service added.
