Azerbaijan Railways advances Barda-Aghdam railway project, boosting regional connectivity
The Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) continues making significant strides in the design and construction of the Barda-Aghdam railway line, a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.
The Barda-Aghdam railway line will span a total of 47.1 kilometers along the main axis, with an overall length of approximately 58 kilometers when including the side tracks, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
As part of this extensive project, ADY plans to construct 130 engineering structures, five stations (Barda, Kocharli, Tazakend, Garvend, and Aghdam), and 34 railway crossings.
The demining work along a 60-meter-wide section of the railway line has been completed, ensuring that the construction can proceed safely. Additionally, the construction of artificial engineering structures has been fully completed.
The design and construction work for the Barda-Aghdam railway line is nearing completion, with 95 per cent of the design and construction and installation works finished. The design for the Aghdam station complex has been completed, while construction continues at the site.
